August 25 WINSTON GEORGE TANNIS ON RAMADAN AND ISLAMI am medidating with God upon declarations respecting Islam,
its will and history, its future, and look forward to God making
clearer his will, for the benefit of all who wish to further know
his majestic plans and expectations of those in this Life. For
those unfamiliar with Islam, - during Ramadan, followers suspend
eating during daylight hours, and it occurs during the ninth
month of the Islamic year, with a view to celebrating the Koran,
and importantly - to cleanse the soul in regard to God's
charms, power, mastery, compassion, good grace and mercy. WINSTON GEORGE TANNIS ON 'STALKING'I recently reviewed a program on stalking in North America,
with a focus on the Canadian stalking problem, with a number
of women constituting victims alongside men. It is a
frightening phenomenon which the police are learning to
cope with as they learn more about the profiles of stalkers
and the impacts on family units.
It is not only public personalities who face such, but regular
citizens who are equally intimidated and harassed and
framed and wrongfully accused.
I can share some of the 'safety plan' elements, which I
have employed for myself and recommended to clients.
Note that these kinds of offenders, when they feel
slighted, may take on aggressive tactics like claiming
legal wrongs, setting off 'racist packs' and even
threatening physical harm. The offender's sense of
innocence and normalcy loses perspective - no longer
perceiving the lines of detachment that have been
drawn by the person stalked.
The slighted party will even try to use the police to
participate in the stalk, to save face. This said line is
both objective and subjective. It is objective in that
it is based on the real dynamics of the particular
interactions, and it is subjective in that the victim's
very individual response and responses are important.
I can easily sympathize with the victims since I am
dealing with similarly minded offenders at a number
of public institutions at present, whose perverse
machiavellian manoeuvres bewilder the mind, but
are real, aggressive, even violent using a variety
of agents.
Often times, an unintended slight can set this chain
off. For example, an employer points to employment
opportunities available in his organization rather
than responding to more personal suggestions for
a relationship. This is a challenge for many emplo-
yers or prospective employers and must be handled
with due care.
The offender must learn to control obsession, slight
and better cope with senses of, feeling slighted or
lesser.
This television program covered the story of a
handsome University swim coach wrongfully
accused of date rape by an aggressive female
student. I could sympathize with this since a
University of Ottawa set of persons, worried
about their relative poorer qualifications have
been caught setting off their harassment system
against a world leading scholastic-professional
contributor while also conniving with mischiefous
and sadly envy-driven family members to bolster
the fraud being perpetuated.
As one expert psychologist put it - the behaviour
can become vengeful and ruthless, like vandalism,
destruction of property and slander campaigns.
Securing a criminal conviction is not always
easy, but it is possible and a criminal harassment
stigma is not a light minded matter.
WINSTON GEORGE TANNIS August 21 WINSTON GEORGE TANNIS ON GREEKFEST OTTAWAAs part of what I do as cultural affairs commentator, and -
in this case, more generally, I attended Ottawa's GreekFest
for a few hours and it remains or is certainly rich in matters
Mediterranean - tours of the Orthodox Church are permitted,
there is regular live entertainment involving song
and dance, and there are all kinds of Greek items for sale
including much food, artworks, jewellery, clothing ... There are three
days remaining, so for you fans and afficionados in the Ottawa
Region you might easily step out, and note that it is free to
simply attend. It also got me thinking about maybe casting
Jennifer Anisman in my upcoming film - a matter I have
commented on before since she has been on my table,
despite a recent dispute over proper public utterances.
WINSTON GEORGE TANNIS WINSTON GEORGE TANNIS ON CHAPTERS/INDIGO CHAINSome time ago, due to a conflict with both ownership and
management at Chapters, I said I would not allow any of
my works to be distributed through these outlets. This
position has not changed because I am not - at all - satisfied
with the handling of a certain matter involving the portrayal
of the Jewish Holocaust during the Second World War.
If there is a change in mind, I shall make a public
announcement and let my fans and afficionados
otherwise know via circulars, newsletters, etc.
WINSTON GEORGE TANNIS August 17 WINSTON GEORGE TANNIS ON CANADIAN TERRORISMJust as of a few moments ago, I faced a curious mobilization of
people and vehicles on streets and public institutions, such as
the Ottawa Public Library, making clear that the Canadian
government remains remorseless and disregards fundamental
laws as they exist and are expected to be enforced in Canada.
The mobilization was typically advanced yet no doubt properly
characterized as inhumane, constitutive of harassment and
terror, in all its forms. Once a properly established panel of
adjudicators may be formed, stay tuned for one of the most
outrageous, cruelty and degradation marked cases in the history
of the world. The use of advanced technologies to bring about
these crimes, at law, is revolting to the sound scientific mind.
It has long been predicted how these gross abuses might
manifest so a Court must proceed accordingly with precedents
of relevance in mind.
The chief perpetrators have involved everyone - the young
and the old, the simple minded and the most skilled in their
administrative class. This is very sad to see from a Canadian
law and justice perspective. If ever there was an argument
that Canada constituted the 'Queen's waste' - the worthless
neanderthals from Western Europe in need of a new albeit
dangerous frontier, this criminally plagued Canadian unit
of offenders has sadly helped support the point. In the
alternative, the same group has bolstered the longstanding
argument that Canada is a Christian 'waste bin' - undeserving
of such religious status, as ideally constructed. This is very
sad as well, since the Holy Spirit is intended to be blind to
race or genetic make up - in fact, it is hoped that it can
transfigure even badly geared genes and behaviours in
action.
Truly,
WINSTON GEORGE N. TANNIS August 14 WINSTON TANNIS ON ANTI-ENTREPRENEURSHIP IN LEGAL PROFESSIONIn an upcoming piece for The Beacon Letters / Les Lettres du
Balise, I will comment on the anti-entrepreneurial ethics and
attitudes of the legal profession, as part of a piece on corruption
at the Law Society of Upper Canada, and to illuminate the
point for those retaining business lawyers and those who do
not practice in this area. This can be disastrous in comprehending
business cycles and why many lawyers stick very closely to strict
legal analysis when advising clients and structuring their
professional lives. August 12 WINSTON GEORGE TANNIS ON HIS WORLD LEADING STATUSThere has been a recent flurry of interest in my world
leading status as Professor of Law, Politics & Metaphysics,
or legal mind/genius and advocate.
As many of you know, I am an expert with a unique set
of awards and accomplishments - a string of such which
make me like the Roger Federer of law, politics ... a Gold
Medal in politics and philosophy, a Platinum Pen for
professional leadership and scholarship, a host of
scholarships, remarkable experiences within financial
centres at institutional leaders with world leading
clients, declared a "law wunderkind" by Lawyer's
Weekly long before turning 30 years of age, ...
Law Clerkships for a historic Chief Justice at three
superior appellate courts and at the Supreme Court
of Canada, a Harvard oriented contributor to both
legal science, the corporate law bastion and political
economics, a remarkable publishing record and the
Founding President and Contributing Editor of both
The Queen's Annual Business Law Symposium and
The Beacon Letters/ Les Lettres du Balise as distributed
internationally.
Before founding Tannis & Associates (International)
I was known as a 'Davies" 'man', protege and remain part
of the distinguished alumni from the 1990s, as world
financial centre leaders and advisors. My experience
with HSBC boutique investment institutions is also
of note.
My formal credentials as not only a distinguished
lawyer and member of the International Bar, but as
political scientist, philosopher, international relations
analyst, sociologist of law, and ADR expert, also
significantly mark my historic standing as advocate,
author, editor, professor, practitioner, 'judge'/arbitrator,
mediator and historic legal and scholastic leader and
as Founding President and Distinguished Professor
of The Beacon Institute For Advanced Studies (BIAS).
During the last ten years I have devoted the bulk
of my time to my foundation - the WINSTON
GEORGE FOUNDATION (Global) through which
I created BWI, meet with students and scholars,
provide pro bono consultations, conduct research
and investigations, look out for the public good
as consumer advocate and discipline force over
corrupt policing and governmental and professional
practices. As well, I have lectured at international
symposiums at post-secondary institutions.
This is why I bill at well over $500.00 per hour when
I am not taking on pro bono consultancy mandates, or
directing my other affairs, which have become paramount
in my life. Collector's Editions of 'The Pillars of Law',
'The Columns of America, The Americas', and, 'The
Best of The Beacon Letters' will soon be available
for acquisition throughout the world, along with other
works.
I will add to this blog as more questions arise.
